But just as every listener is unique, so is the program implementation for each listener. No effective method is ever "one size fits all," and that is why TLP relies on qualified, trained Providers such as Melissa East of Honeybee Listening to administer the TLP method. Melissa became a TLP Provider in 2000 by completing training in several areas, including central auditory processing; ear and brain physiology; individualizing program plans; TLP music and technical production; research; and case studies. Melissa became a Certified Provider after completing additional training and competency testing to demonstrate her expertise in listening technologies and TLP. Working with a Certified Provider gives you with an assurance that you are working with an individual who has the background, training, and experience necessary to insure your success with TLP. Melissa is well-equipped to design custom listening schedules specifically for each client. The flexibility of TLP is invaluable, enabling significant progress for clients along the continuum-from those seeking peak performance to those struggling with debilitating disorders. What's more, the TLP method integrates well with a broad range of modalities, actually enhancing other approaches. Generally, listeners will use TLP once or twice a day for 15 minutes, five days a week. The initial listening plan will take place over the course of at least a few months, followed by maintenance listening to build on specific benefits. As Melissa monitors progress, she will often make adjustments throughout the listening plan to meet individual needs. Whatever the listening schedule, consistency on the part of the listener is critical. For lasting change, casual exposure to auditory stimulation will not produce results. The brain must be frequently and repetitively presented with specific auditory stimulation, with the right intensity, and for a sufficient duration of time for effective change. | | | With Melissa as your Certified Provider, you are working with an individual who has the background, training, and experience necessary to ensure your success with TLP.
