Experience
Moose Design & Consulting's primary
engineer is Edward Burg, a dual degreed engineer
with 20 years of experience as a mechanical engineer and
10 years as an electrical engineer.
In the last 10 years, Ed has
concentrated his efforts in microwave/microelectronic
packaging involving PCB and substrate design in the 1-40
GHz frequency range. These designs involve digital as well
as analog solutions requiring EMI and SI analysis in the
frequency and time domains. He has utilized his mechanical
engineering degree in material selections for high
frequency and thermal and structural analysis for
packaging solutions. These designs have been verified in
the lab through the use of spectrum and network analyzers.
Many of these designs involved team building and
leadership techniques to generate consensus among
engineers and managers.
Tools
Moose Design & Consulting has both
mechanical and electrical design and analysis
capabilities. Mechanical layout and design of electronic
packaging involves the use of 2D and 3D CAD packages from
which thermal, vibration and stress analysis can be
performed using finite element software. Electrical layout
of PCB and substrates for high speed digital as well as
microwave applications utilizing SI and EMI analysis tools
for a complete design. Analysis services can be performed
as part of a critical design review in pre-production or
investigation of an existing design.
Additional information on the specific
software tools we utilize will be on-line soon.
